Compressed gas cylinder valves are fitted to the top of a compressed gas cylinder. The valves will normally have a knob at the top which regulates the flow of the gas, and an opening which is designed to fit a gauge assembly, because there are different types of gasses, and different uses for cylinders such as filling up balloons or breathing devices for divers the valves come in different shapes and sizes making it easier not to use the wrong gas.
